FAO invites all interested to join work on developing models of shelterbelt management

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Ukraine within the framework of the project “Integrated Natural Resources Management in Degraded Landscapes in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe Zones of Ukraine” has started a collaboration with All-Ukrainian association village councils and amalgamated communities to develop an effective model of shelterbelt inventory and a number of bottom-up ownership models of multipurpose shelterbelt management.
In the framework of this work, it is planned to identify and form initiative groups with a view to practically implement the proposed models with the next planting of shelterbelts in four Oblasts of Ukraine.

Your answers will help us to have the updated information concerning the current shelterbelt management mechanisms and develop new efficient models, develop new standards and elaborate a set of recommendations to improve national legislation for sustainable multipurpose shelterbelt management, expand the resource base for Ukrainian communities. In addition, your answer will help us to identify initiative groups for further cooperation and practical implementation of pilot projects for inventory and planting of shelterbelts in your territory.
The questionnaire should be completed before November 30, 2019.
